How does "Floor" work?
The floor is the minimum index-linked interest rate you will earn. The most common floor is 0%. A 0% floor assures that even if the index decreases in value, the index-linked interest that you earn will be zero and not negative.
利率下限
此下限是您将获得的与指数挂钩的最低利率。 最常见的下限是0%。 下限为0%可确保即使指数下跌, 您获得的与指数挂钩的利息也将为零, 而不是负数。
What is an Annual Reset?
Index-linked interest, if any, is determined each year by comparing the index value at the end of the contract year with the index value at the start of the contract year. Annual Reset also locks in any interest your contract earned during the year. Without this important feature, your years of profit could be wiped out in just one bad year like in 2008.
年度重置
每年都通过将合同年末的指数值与合同年初的指数值进行比较来确定与指数挂钩的利息。 在该期限内, 利息将每年添加到您的年金中。
What is an annuity?
An annuity is a guaranteed contract between you and a life insurance company. You make a deposit called a premium payment and in return you receive a guaranteed financial contract that has stated terms and conditions. Annuities can be used to grow your money or to provide a guaranteed lifetime income stream. It’s possible to use some annuities for both growth and lifetime income.
\Example: Principal: $35,000 Income/Benefit Base after 7 years: $67,000(Bonus and growth are included) Lifetime Income = $3300 per year(bad market performance) Lifetime Income: $2500 per year
如何知道股本年金是否适合我?
您需要考虑自己愿意承担多少风险。 问你自己:
我是否对可能无法保证较高收益的变额年金感兴趣, 并愿意冒损失本金的风险?","没有或几乎没有损失本金风险的保底利率对我来说是否更重要?","或者, 我是否介于这两个极端之间并愿意承担一些风险?"]}
Is there a lower or upper age limit to buying an annuity?
Most companies set age 30 as the lower limit, and the typical upper limit is 85. The average age of first-time annuity buyers is about 50, based on a few surveys.
How is annuity income taxed?
Profits from an annuity are taxed at ordinary income rates. If the contract is annuitized, meaning that distributions are made each month, quarter, or year, the portion of the distribution that represents earnings is taxed as income. In all cases, remember that only the profit is taxed, not the principle.
What's the difference between Qualified and Non-Qualified?
These terms have to do with the tax treatment of your annuity.
'Qualified' often refers to before-tax money, and 'Non-Qualified' often refers to after-tax money. If you buy your annuity with after-tax dollars (e.g. checkings/savings), it'll be a 'Non-Qualified' account. If you use pre-tax dollars (e.g. a 401(k) or IRA), it'll be a 'Qualified' account.
\Example:

Qualified Annuity

Non-Qualified Annuity

Principal/Payment

Before-taxed funds

After-tax funds

Tax Treatment

Tax later

Tax only on earnings

Common Source

401(k), 403(b), 457, IRA Pension

Savings, cash, stocks, bonds, mutual funds

\Reminder: Qualified funds can merge together, and Non-qualified funds can merge together, but Qualified funds and Non-Qualified funds cannot be mixed.
